SHOPPING THISNEXT

Are you an online shopaholic, or just need to find a general gift and don't know where to start. Maybe you have a wedding that you are attending or a High School class reunion in which you need to impress everyone with that stylish new look you have. Or maybe you're like me, and always need that new gizmo or thingamajig, like a 60 inch HD Bluetooth Flat screen TV, or a WowWee Tribot Talking Robot, or a USB Wireless Retro Microphone, or even shyt that's not sold in the U.S. or Canada. If that is you, or sounds like you, or just not even you, then check out ThisNext.com (www.thisnext.com/?ue=09E193FA).

ThisNext.com is Meta taged – "A place for you to explore great product recommendations, get personalized shopping suggestions and rave about products you like." For me, it's the easiest way to find something when you really don't know what you are looking for. People (bloggers, Public Relation firms, viral marketers, companies, your mother, your grandpa, your twelve year old brother, and your roommate) search for products, recommend products, comment on other people recommendations, share it, and link it to where you can purchase it (or at least find more information on it.)

Yeah you could go Google a product like a BCBG dress size 1 fits all, but you can't ask Google what product you should buy. If you go to a store you know that the sales person is going to say it looks hot on you, or that it's the best price in town. Forget all that mess and lies.

Things you will find on ThisNext

  • Obama Sneaker

  • Seven Deadly Sins Gift Set
  • A BMW X6 Series for $63K or 34,500 in UK Pounds (F.Y.I. the American dollar is so weak - 1 UK Pound = $1.82 American Dollar)
  • Voodoo doll toothpick holder
  • (Pretty much every damn thing)

The site of course also allows you to create a simple profile, but the coolest part is that you can share your recommendation or something you found with friends via email, facebook, MySpace, (ah! you get the picture). No more wack gifts from your friends. Just send them the link or share it on Facebook or twitter.

If you are a fashion, gaming, music, sporting, or gadget blogger then this site is more for you then you might think. ThisNext also supports mavens of fashionistas and Toy fanatics and much more with their Maven program which allows the sites most influential members to have bragging rights by gaining product sneak-peaks, exclusive offers, and even VIP event invitations.

So read what people say about the product before you purchase. And make sure when you join that you add me as a friend.

P.S. I need a new cool watch.

Project L.E.O.

Hey everyone,

Like I said previously, I've been doing some big things lately. A few weeks ago I traveled to Syracuse NY (Home of Carmelo Anthony) to work with a group of inner-city youth. The project titled the L.E.O. – Leadership Education (On and Offline) prepared middle school and high school students to be ambassadors of internet safety. In a world where Myspace.com and Facebook.com are powered by youth sharing their personal life, it seems only relevant that youth step in to educate their peers on online etiquette.

Youth are now faced with cyber bullying, online predators, online stalkers, and more. I remember back in elementary school I was told not to chat with strangers. Now you can hold months and months of conversations and share pictures with a person that you never met. Times have change as they always will.

I felt privileged to work with the youth and to show them that it does not take that much to stalk someone online. They were able to find my old project building and my grandmother's name in less the 2 minutes online.

This was also a great opportunity for me to introduce the 98% female / African and Latin class on career opportunities in the interactive, mobile, and gaming space. It is very important to diversify this space by encouraging both youth and interactive companies to open their minds and explore opportunities.

I know that some of you are thinking "aww, he is helping out the minorities to broaden their scope in life." Here are some facts for you if you had that thought –

FACT: Facebook has a 55% female user base with an average age range of 12 – 17 (TEENS). There are more African Americans on Facebook than average. Myspace has a 58% female user base of female with more Hispanics than average. (Stats provided by Quantacast.com)

So interactive, mobile, and gaming companies please open your minds and doors to the thought of ethnically diversifying your company. It will only benefit you in the long run.

Thank you Mr. Joseph Saulter - CEO of Entertainment Arts Reserach, and Ms. Jasmine Crowe - Owner of Mystjazz PR for being guest speakers for the class via Skype video confrencing.

Help support youth by volunteering for your local city schools to promote higher education.
